Cochrane Lakes Heritage
Long before Cochrane and Rocky View County became known for its mountain views and western charm, it was a hub to several famous brickyards, which began operations in the late 1800s. These brickyards helped build schools, churches, and homes across Alberta.
Sky Ranch will honour the craftsmanship and character of the region’s past brickyards by requiring the use of bricks as integral features within each home adding to the rural charm of Cochrane Lake. Influenced by the rich heritage of western Canada’s farmhouses and the Town of Cochrane’s historic brick yards, the community’s architectural guidelines showcases a spin on modern and conventional farmhouse styling.

Sky Ranch is the first new community development in the Cochrane Lakes area in over 15 years. Its architecture is characterized by four main styles: Cochrane Lake Farmhouse, Sky Ranch Farmhouse, Sky Ranch Modern and Sky Ranch Prairie.
Home styles include Street Towns, Duplexes, Single Family Homes, and Executive Homes. All styles are available in both lane and front-drive homes.
